Homeward Bound

We recently found out that our friend, Ridwan Laher, will be leaving Portland, Oregon and heading back to South Africa.

I first met Ridwan via the internet, when he posted a comment about the Spurs Restaurant in South Africa...from South Africa. South Africa? What the hell is someone from South Africa doing reading my blog? I had a hard time believing someone from South Africa, let alone out of the area of Portland was reading my blog.

About a year later, I made a comment about Genocidal Joe, Joe Lieberman, who wants to kill thousands if not millions of Iranians because, well, he won't be pulling the trigger, other folks will be doing it for him, and I get a comment from Ridwan saying he is in town.

Ridwan, Shusli, and I have hit it off pretty well, and Shusli wrote a wonderful honoring to Ridwan on her blog.

I wish Ridwan was staying, but I understand why he is going home. Our conversations last night were about being indigenous and made me think of how strongly Shusli and I have been discussing getting back to the land because there is no separation between us and the land, let alone us and anything else.

So, Ridwan, Bra, I'm sure we'll all get together again. Until then...

REVOLUTION NOW!
