Shusli wrote an excellent post on her blog about pharmaceuticals and marijuana. If you click on the photo, you will be sent to her post.
My post was a discussion Shusli and I had last night and a comment I wanted to post on her blog, but it would be rather long.
Shusli also posted a similar statement on the Derrick Jensen forum and her writing was flagged as controversial in content.
What Shusli and I discussed last night was, "Where are the Revolutionaries?"
Here are some statistics I gleaned from Mamas.org (Mothers Against Misuse and Abuse). They also supply you with the resources they used to get these statistics. Illegal drugs and over the counter drugs account for 17,000 deaths in the U.S. annually. Alcohol kills 101,000 folks annually. Tobacco kills 435,000 annually. Adverse reactions to propertly perscribed drugs kills 106,000 U.S. citizens annually. Using marijuana has yet to kill anybody anywhere in the world, and even if using marijuana has killed someone somewhere, compare the statistics.
Marijuana is a dangerous subject that many Revolutionaries are afraid to talk about more so than say...blowing up dams. It is a subject barely talked about in public forums because of a great fear of repercussions that could be suffered at the hands of the U.S. government. There seems to be a disconnect here.
Marijuana is illegal because of the paper industry and race hate of Mexicans and Blacks as well as hatred towards "jazz musicians." It isn't because marijuana is unhealthy. In fact, until the work of Harry Anschlinger and Bill Hurst, Marijuana was actually used in many medicines.
There is a great lie right in front of your face, and there are a handful of folks that are willing to talk about it, but a VAST majority of users and non-users who are absolutely terrified to discuss this subject, even those who are Revolutionaries. The U.S. has lied to you about this plant and will deal out many forms of corporal punishment to you should you make the choice not to believe their vast lie. And if the U.S. is willing to lie and deliver punishement for not believing their lie (6 folks are doing life sentences for crimes around MJ and one had none in his posession nor was he growing any, housed in Texas, of course). You don't believe this lie and you will be punished. And it is being FORCED by the land of the free upon the whole world.
Saul Williams says in a song that he was in Belize and the folks he was hanging with were out of papers. A Rasta pulls out his bible and starts reading the first page of Genesis. They all listened intently as he read aloud. When he was done, he tore the page from the bible and rolled "the biggest spliff I had ever seen." And there in, Saul saw the power of words. "In the beginning was the word. First God said it, and then it was."
Here are a few words for you to chew on:
Marijuana is healthy. Marijuana doesn't kill. The things that do kill are illegal. You can be punished in the alleged land of the free for even talking about marijuana being healthy in a public forum.
Marijuana is illegal so it can be used as a tool to control the populace, one of many. It has nothing to do with health issues. But it is a subject most folks will fall right into line on with fear and without question.
So don't forget, puff on that cigarette, drink some booze, take the doctors medicine, take your over the counters, but don't you dare reach for that bong!
