Boycotting Regal Cinemas

Shusli and I went to see two movies in the last several days. "No Country for Old Men," go see it. I won't say anything about it, friendo, but you should go see this movie. Wednesday we watched, "The Mist." It is based on a Stephen King story and a very good movie also...but that isn't what I want to talk to you about.

The prices are so overinflated, paying $26 for two adults and a kid, and $16 for a bucket of popcorn and two sodas, but that's not the reason. You see, some of the chain movie theaters sell commercials which is bad enough. But at both movies we were FORCED [you can't mute or change the channel] to watch Three Doors Down sing "Citizen Soldier" for a National Guard recruitment advertisement.

Felicia wondered at my complaint because she liked the song. I told her that what this is is the glorification of war to get people to sign up. It is propaganda. Soldiers are coming back with arms and legs blown off and they have to pay for them. If there duty is cut short from an injury received in combat, they have to give back all of their sign up bonus money. Folks like to say they suppor the troops, but in actuality, they could give a rats ass about them, just as much as they could give a rats ass about all the folks they are asked to kill for our alleged freedom. War is NOTHING TO BE GLORIFIED. (Read Smedley Butler's, "War is a Racket")

An interesting statistic I'll leave you with. WWI, only 10% of the casualties were civilian, WWIII, the wars in the Middle East, 90% of the casualties are civilian.

If you are pro military and not in it, SIGN UP! You are asking others to do your killing for you. Get out there and do it yourselves, assholes.

Boycott Regal Cinemas, but even if you don't, that's fine. Shusli and I will sure as hell never be going to one of those over inflated glorification of war propagandist bastards entertainment centers any time soon.
