Democracy Ball

The word "democracy" gets tossed about like it is a beach ball at a rock concert. Democracy is discussed like it is the end and all be all form of government, like veganism is the end all and be all of everything.

Folks vote for their representatives. The folks running for election tell lies about what they are going to do when elected into office. Their campaigns are ran by their corporate owners because once they get elected, they are in the pockets of the corporations that bought them in the first place. The common folk are thrust aside, even the common folk that work for said democracy.

Democratic actions led to the illegal war in Iraq. These actions have tortured, murdered, displaced, hundreds of thousands of people. These actions have polluted there lands for thousands of years to come.

Democratic actions killed hundreds of folks here in the states looking to do things like...unionize.

Democratic actions have and are still committing genocide against indigenous folks.

Democratic actions have enslaved blacks and now offer them a kinder gentler form of segregation.

And the list goes on and on and on.

Democracy is just a word tossed about for political gain in one form or another.

Governments, in my opinion, should be set up to take care of their people and their land base.

Governments currently could care less about their people and take everything that belongs to others.

We need to look at as many systems of governing as possible. One government does not work for all. It depends on the needs of the people and the needs of the land.

That said, I'll leave you with a quote by Mark Twain:

If voting could change anything, they would have made it illegal.
