"Squaw" Means "Pussy"

Rhonda and I went on a recon mission to see if the huckleberries were ripe yet. Another week or two. I will post those photos later today or tomorrow.

We decided to go to Trout Lake and on the way there we say this sign.


For those of you who are unaware, the word "squaw" is a bastardization of an Algonquin word which is a reference to women's genitalia. It is actually a sacred word, but per usual, when the colonialists got a hold of it and them thinking women as only holes to stuff their dicks into, the word came to mean in their language "pussy" or "cunt" or "your mother is only good for her cunt" or "your mother is nothing but a cunt." So we Indians find this word particularly offensive.



On the road into Trout Lake where you may see about 20 cars TOPS during the 20 mile journey out of Indian Heaven, one is treated to spectacular views such as these; Sleeping Beauty and Pahto. We also saw cows, but I'll post those photos on the next post, as I want to get this one up.

We (we being Rhonda, Felicia, and I) got into Trout Lake, ate some burgers and such. Four young Indian men pulled up and before we left, we got to talking. Seems they just got out of a meeting. They were from the Yakima Reservation. Rhonda asked what they thought of the name "Squaw Butte?" They unanimously said it was offensive.

When we got back up to that area after our dinner, someone had "fixed" the sign, as it were.
