MIKE GRAVEL: This is fantasy land. We're talking about ending the war. My god, we’re just starting a war right today. There was a vote in the Senate today. Joe Lieberman, who authored the Iraq resolution, has authored another resolution, and it is essentially a fig leaf to let George Bush go to war with Iran. And I want to congratulate Biden for voting against it, Dodd for voting against it, and I’m ashamed of you, Hillary, for voting for it. You're not going to get another shot at this, because what’s happened, if this war ensues, we invade, and they're looking for an excuse to do it. And Obama was not even there to vote.
TIM RUSSERT: Senator Clinton, I want to give you a chance to respond.
SEN. HILLARY CLINTON: [laughter]
--Democracy Now, 10-02-07
What we are talking about here are the lives of millions of people, and it aint nothin' but a JOKE to Hillary Clinton. This is for those of you who live in the fantasy world that the democrats are somehow different.
This also makes me think of when Al Gore, while running for President in '99 '00, was asked by an activist about the 5,000 children dying preventably in Iraq at the time. His answer: "[laughter]".
Dead darkies aint nothin' but a joke to the Democrats. Nothing will be different. The system is not going to want the system to end. The system is maintained by blood thirsty war and Americans go along with it because THEY ARE SO FUCKING STUPID!
I like it when spokeswoman, Dana Perino, was drilled about the Seymour Hersch article. Since George couldn't sell a war with Iran as a nuclear threat, he has declared the Iranian Guard as a terrorist organization (also voted for by that war mongering Lieberman loving asshole, Hillary Clinton). It's opening a door for yet another U.S. lead genocide.
Anyway, Perino said a couple of things that interested me:
"We are pursuing a diplomatic solution in Iran."
As Seymour pointed out, the Bush administration used this sam line prior to the U.S. lead illegal and genocidal invasion of Iraq.
Perino also said this: "...solve the Iranian problem." Like: The Jewish problem (or Jewish question) in Nazi Germany. Like: "...solv[ing] our persistent Indian problem."
These types of problems are dealt with by the U.S. in their usual manner:
GENOCIDE
